Face of Us – National Gallery of Jamaica

10/12/2023 – 31/03/2024

The Face of Us exhibition explores Jamaican identity and social dynamics through the lens of Portraiture – a genre of art that features the likenesses of people, using the human face as a powerful symbol of representation. The NGJ publicly advertised an open call encouraging artists from Jamaica and its diaspora to send portrait works that express the personal and social responses of Jamaicans, to the cultural and economic realities of their lives within the last three years; whether in local or international contexts.
